The molecular weight and/or chemical structure does not match the compound it is claimed to be.
The purity of the active ingredient is below the acceptance threshold.

A compound is classified as Suspect when the analytical data is not sufficiently conclusive to confirm the result.
Some compounds ionize poorly, making it difficult to detect the expected molecular mass.
Compounds with a purity between 50% and 85% are designated as Suspect until a second analysis has been performed.
This verification step helps ensure that the result is not influenced by analytical artifacts related to sample handling, preparation, or materials.
Certain molecular structures are challenging to analyze using the standard IP workflow. In these cases, additional analytical methods may be required to confirm or reject the compound.
The IP method is designed to be fast, robust, and applicable to a broad range of molecules. However, no single analytical method is suitable for every compound.
In some cases, the analysis may produce no conclusive result. This means that the available data is insufficient to either confirm or reject the compound, and additional analytical techniques may be required.
